BC ASSUR (Bilodeau Couture Assurances) is a brokerage firm specializing in damage insurance. We operate regionally in five (5) places of business that extend from Saguenay to Chibougamau. This company's beginnings stem from two damage insurance brokerage firms: The Groupe Riverin Bilodeau Inc. and Gingras Jacques Lajoie and Assoc. The origins of Groupe Riverin Bilodeau Inc. date back to 1972, date of its beginnings under the name "Gerard Bilodeau Ansurance". Founded by Mr. Gerard Bilodeau, the company was passed down to his son in 1986, Mr. Jean Bilodeau. In 1988, the firm merged with Assurances Reginald Riverin, a family business founded in 1971, to then become the Groupe Riverin Bilodeau Inc., generating $ 1,000,000 in volume at that time. The owners were then Mr. Jean Bilodeau and Mr. Reginald Riverin. In 1998, with competition becoming more threatening due to deregulation of financial markets, the owners of the firms Groupe Riverin Bilodeau Inc. GLFB Inc., and Crédit bail André Fortin created the "Bloc Conseils Services financiers". The new company brings together professionals in each of the financial areas, such as: investment, financing, insurance of persons, and damage insurance. These professionals are qualified and specialized in specific fields, allowing us to offer expertise for global solutions to our clients. In 2000, Jean Bilodeau acquires 100% of the shares of the Groupe Riverin Bilodeau Inc. and thus, became the sole owner. In early 2006, Groupe Riverin Bilodeau inc. acquired the main assets of the brokerage firm Gingras Jacques Lajoie and Assoc., a regional company since 1960, a key actor in the insurance brokerage sector in the Saguenay region. It is the consolidation of these two major firms that is now forms BC Assur (Bilodeau Couture Assurances Inc.). The current co-owners are Jean Bilodeau and Michel Couture.
