Beacon Place
Beacon Place was established by a group of dedicated individuals with more than 50 years of combined social service within a number of Lake County (IL) Communities. Taking the best of what they had learned, this group formed BeaconPlace in the fall of 2012, to provide programs that feed, educate, activate, train, and empower children and families through food and technology resources that will enable them to develop as stronger individuals and communities. We also believe in the power of neighbors helping neighbors and that is why Beacon PlaceCommunity Center is located at 603 S. McAlister in Waukegan, in a home in a neighborhood. The people of the community are helping us to create the community center that they want and need. We know that making a life change is difficult but we know that this community wants to help itself. We rely on strong partners to provide financial support that will make the Beacon Place Community Center and Programs available that will make this transformation a reality. To help meet the needs of the community, Beacon Place has set up 6 core Programs including-Beacon Lunch Bunch, Beacon Backpacks, Beacon Green, Beacon Tech, Beacon Kids Club, and Beacon Parent Programs. Details of each of these programs can be found under the BEACON Program tab or by clicking on the name of the program above. So much is going on at Beacon Place that we like to keep our friends and supporters informed with photos, news and updates on our program developments.
