Beam
Formerly known as Bishop Arts & Media, parent company of BAM Productions, BEAM has its origins in Journalism, film, television and live theater. Principal Snowden Bishop launched BAM in Los Angeles in 1996 when she exited the corporate world of entertainment to pursue creative projects on her own in partnership with filmmakers, theatrical directors and other producers. The company became known for its ingenious marketing of its own creative projects, evidenced by the success of runaway sleeper hits like White Trash Wins Lotto. As a result, it branched into creative marketing for other filmmakers and producers. In time, it garnered a client following of socially and environmentally conscious companies seeking to gain a foothold in the sustainability movement. With a cache of environmental writings in mainstream media to her credit, Bishop formed a partnership with creative designer, Rebecca Edwards, and launched AZGreen Magazine, BEAM's first publication. With a clear vision of bringing sustainability issues to mainstream, the company has evolved to provide creative, editorial and publishing services to socially conscious enterprises, conservation and environmental advocacy organizations, and international nonprofit organizations that share its mission. In 2013, BEAM formed a permanent alliance with one such company, Threads of Connection, to provide editorial services to its CSR clients. Since then, Threads of Connection's CEO, Star Simmons, has joined BEAM as a partner to lead marketing and strategic business development for all BEAM Publications. Today, it is the parent of several "enlightened" media outlets, and is forming the BEAM Alliance of Publications with like-minded publishers to further its mission to enlighten the world, one word at a time.
