Beaubassin-est Rural Community

The Beaubassin Planning Commission (BPC) is the regional organization that was created under the Community Planning Act to provide planning services for the district and its residents. The Beaubassin Planning District is composed of the Beaubassin East Rural Community, the Village of Cap-Pelé, the Village of Memramcook, the Town of Shediac and the Beaubassin West Planning Area. These entities are the partners of the BPC. The Commission must guarantee a process that gives direction to development and automatically ensures the residents' participation in the decision making regarding land-use planning. Via its various actions, the BPC tries to be transparent, fair and equitable with its partners and its clients. The BPC also tries to ensure that the actions destined to improve the quality of life of the district's residents are implemented by its partners via daily operations. The Beaubassin Planning Commission helps the municipalities and the Rural Community to anticipate the needs and issues by developing municipal and rural plans, advising the municipalities, the Rural Community and the Minister on the by-laws and regulations up for adoption, and conducting studies and analysis by which solutions to the identified issues can be explored. The Beaubassin Planning Commission answers to its partners via members who represent them on the Commission, joint committees of municipal or rural plans, reports submitted by the staff at the monthly meetings of the councils or the committees of the Rural Community, and the annual meeting and report. The Beaubassin Planning Commission is different from the other regional organizations by its exclusivity in urbanism and planning. The BPC is the only organization having the mandate to deal with zonings, subdivisions, building permits and public information on land.
