Benco Trading was founded in 1994. Originally established as a retailer in FMCG's, Benco is now a well-established Sierra Leone based trading company comprising of several units, that specialize in the importation, storage and distribution of a wide variety of products from global suppliers. Our products range from building materials and foodstuffs to chemicals and fuels. Benco has been a pioneering force and market leader in the bulk importation of high quality cement and iron rods into Sierra Leone. Our frozen foods unit is also one of the first and strongest in the country. With warehouses and cold rooms strategically located near the main seaport, we have a logistical advantage when receiving bulk and containerized cargo. We are also the largest importers and distributors of LPG (this unit is being spun off to Afrigas (SL) Ltd). With our warehouses and cold rooms situated adjacent to the QEII port, Benco has a logistics advantage vis-a-vis clearing and transport of goods from the port, especially break bulk cargo and large volumes of containerized goods. Over the years our operations have expanded to cover many products categories: Building materials: Cement, Rebars, Roofing Sheets, and Binding Wire Specialty Products: we have the exclusive distributorship for Hardox™ Wear Plates in Sierra Leone.
