BICO

BICO would like to provide consumers with some tips for the handling and storage of ice cream and other frozen desserts, to ensure that they can enjoy this lovely treat to the fullest. Like any other dairy item ice cream is perishable and should therefore be handled carefully, when ice cream is subjected to temperatures above 10ºF it will show signs of change in body, texture and flavour. Ice cream will always be affect negatively with improper handling and storage. Following are some tips for getting the most from your ice cream: Supermarket, Gas Station etc... • Ice cream should be the last item to go into your cart in the supermarket, so make the ice cream isle your last stop. • Make the grocery shop or ice cream retailer the last stop on your shopping trip, then, go straight home. This will ensure that your ice cream does not sit in a warm car whilst you make additional stops. • Ice cream will be fully frozen and should feel hard when touched. If the product is soft you may wish to bring it to the attention of the store Manager.
