Bison State Bank was established on January 1, 1901, 40 years after Kansas admission to the Union as the 34th state. About 250 banks were operating in Kansas at the time. Through the years hundreds of other banks in Kansas have come and gone, but Bison remained-still dedicated to serving its loyal customers during good times and bad. Fast forward to January 1, 2018. New ownership, new leadership and an expanded board of directors ushers in a new era for Bison State Bank. First Mortgage Solutions becomes part of Bison State Bank moving from mortgage broker to a full mortgage bank offering underwriting, closing and funding. Enhanced facilities and technology and a full-service residential lending focus are setting the stage for a new modern banking experience in western Kansas. One that still focuses on personal service and local growth. So Bison State Bank can continue to serve for the next 100 years and beyond.
