BJC was formed by Eric Buether, Chris Joe and Brian Carpenter, former Greenberg Traurig shareholders in its Dallas IP litigation section. Mr. Buether formerly served as the head of Greenberg Traurig Dallas' IP litigation group. Mr. Buether was a founding member of the litigation boutique McKool Smith, P.C., helping start its patent litigation practice and has been honored as a Texas SuperLawyer every year since 2004. Before McKool Smith, he practiced law at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and Johnson & Gibbs. Mr. Joe was associated with Holtzman Urquhart & Moore in Houston before joining Mr. Buether at McKool Smith in 1996.
