Birkirkara St. Joseph Triathlon Series

Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club, now Malta 's leading multi-sports Club, was founded in August, 1975, and the 30 years that followed has been a period of continuous activity with the main aim of educating members through sport. The Club's sporting activities varied along the years, with Club teams participating in amateur football, darts, table-tennis, athletics, cycling, swimming and triathlon. Football has been around for the Club's whole life span, but it was triathlon that really put the Club on the local and international sporting scene. Engaging a professional British coach at the end of 1994 for a number of years, Birkirkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club embarked on a wide programme which lead to us winning the National Triathlon Championship for a consecutive number of years, producing Malta 's top triathletes in the process. Considering the genre of sport triathlon is, this is surely a very enviable feat, which will take a long time to surpass. Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club does not only cater for top or elite athletes. Within its ranks there is quiet a variety of members coming from all walks of life. New members are always more then welcome. The Club is also an organizing entity in itself. The Red Bull Triathlon Series of Races is just one example. We organize also a 5K Road Running Series, and a Series of open sea swims. The Club organizes also sporting events in conjunction with Local Councils and charitable institutions. Club members occupy administrative posts in various national associations, thus widening the Club's experience in event organization. The Club has had outstanding results over the years.
