We support a wide and expanded variety of crops for food, fiber and energy; produced using constantly updated Best Practices with reduced regulatory intrusion. We recognize the large contribution that livestock makes to agriculture and our economy. We seek equitable resolution to conflicts that occur in balancing economic production with maintaining our environment and with issues of being a good neighbor. We recognize that the free market system includes large and small farms with various mixtures of ownership. We support long term farm policy that relies less on government intervention and manipulation and more on the market place while providing options on revenue assurance tools. We support allowing farmers to take advantage of marketing opportunities at home and abroad without government interference and encourage production decisions based on market demand. We support modernizing the required infrastructure to capitalize on world-wide marketing opportunities, such as efficient transportation for farm products on the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers.
