At The Boda Group, Zane focuses on the issues and opportunities facing highly successful business leaders and their teams. His typical clients are senior executives and/or fast track rising stars, most of whom would describe themselves as highly driven, type A personalities. He frequently takes a "whole life" approach that looks at the client's life as a whole. Two fundamental questions he seeks to help his clients answer are, "What do you want out of life? and, "What is blocking you from achieving it? The focus is on personal growth, which almost always brings significant professional results, as well. Leadership is… about bringing out the best in others. My belief is that two key ingredients of great leadership (as opposed to merely effective leadership) are authenticity and service. Great leaders tell the truth compassionately and courageously, have conflict constructively, and do so from a place of service to others and the organization's mission and values. One thing I learned recently is… not to take myself too seriously. My kids re-teach this to me constantly. One additional thing I'd like to add is… I wish I could golf. What a great concept: out in nature, connecting with other people, clear goals, appropriate tools, physical, mental, emotional. It all works well for me on a theoretical level; it's hitting the darn ball I find challenging.
