BovaTrac International, LLC, is a value-based company designed to help cattlemen gain a competitive edge in the marketplace through increasing quality, efficiency and profitability of ranch operations. Our mission is to assist cattlemen in responding to the growing demands of today's beef value chain, and to enhance the confidence of the global consumer so they may rely on beef as a stable protein source. We are dedicated to assisting cattlemen in gathering necessary data from their cow herd, and transferring that data into usable EPD's, or Expected Progeny Differences, for crossbred or commercial cattle. EPDs are an invaluable source of information about the value of any animal as a parent, and are an important part of both sire and replacement female selections in the beef industry. This predictability verification allows cattlemen to evaluate their herds for maternal traits, growth, and carcass efficiencies. By utilizing conversion factors, we can convert specific breed EPD's to a common database, which allows the comparison across breeds. Through our program, we also have the capability to provide age and source verification. Age and source verified cattle have proven to add value to an animal, and the domestic and international demand of consumers suggests our industry is moving in this direction. With a custom tracking ID that will follow the calf from pasture to harvest, our goal is to provide ranchers with a traceable and marketable product. Combined with the predictability of genetic information through EPDs, this additional tool will allow us to work in assisting the producer in adding value while minimizing risk in their operation.
