Brace's Bakery

Brace's Bakery Limited has over recent years, transformed from a small local supplier to a well respected plant bread manufacturer. The company continues to go from strength to strength, winning a host of new contracts, continually reviewing its product range and steadily expanding into the south of England. Established in 1902 by George Brace, Brace's is now in it's fourth generation with Mark Brace, Managing Director and Jonathan Brace, Director. Their father, Colin, still takes a very active role in the business. Colin Brace OBE - Colin joined the business in 1946, when he was demobbed at the end of the 2nd world war. Colin took control of the business in 1974 following the death of his father Ernest. Mark Brace - Mark joined the family business in 1976. He became a major shareholder in 1986. Jonathan Brace - Jonathan joined the family business in 1984 and became a major shareholder in 1986. Today Brace's has two bakeries, a state of the art bread plant bakery at Pen-y-fan producing 6,000 loaves per hour and a bakery at Rogerstone, Newport producing bread for the sandwich industry, as well as our main stream bread range. A third bakery at Croespenmaen, will reopen early 2017. Brace's distribution area covers south / south-west Wales and the south / south-west of England. Supply of Brace's products are made to all the major multiples including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury and Morrisons and many smaller independent stores, taking the Brace's brand into over 3,000 stores. Brace's employ 280 people and has its own fleet of vehicles. Brace's is committed to delivering the finest and freshest quality products and aim to deliver product to store within 4 to12 hours of baking. Brace's was the first bakery in the UK to receive the British Retail Consortium (BRC) accreditation for excellent standards in bread manufacturing. The Company has continued to grow and now proudly achieves a turnover of around £40 million.
