We take a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to deliver impactful programs, making a difference in the lives of those affected by brain cancer. We are focused on improving patient outcomes across the spectrum - from patient care to working towards finds a cure for this devastating disease. The Brain Cancer Group is a collaborative team of leading brain cancer specialists. We apply insights from frontline patient care to inform activities across research, support and education, to ensure we are making a difference in the lives of those affected by brain cancer. The Brain Cancer Group is a not-for-profit organisation administered by a Board of Directors. The Group is funded by generous donations from the public. All public donations to the Group are used to support research, education and patient and carer support. The Group is based on The Royal North Shore Hospital campus and includes public and private supports patients from throughout New South Wales, Australasia and South East Asia. In collaboration with The Kolling Institute of Medical Research, the Group have been able to establish a brain tumour tissue bank. Brain Tumour Tissue samples are collected and exposed to genetic analysis. Since starting the bank, we have collected over 1500 tumour samples. The long-term goal is to identify a genetic molecular description that will improve treatments and increase survival time of patients with brain tumours. This vital research is funded by donations made to The Brain Cancer Group. Brain cancer is a devastating diagnosis for patients and their families. As a multidisciplinary team of leading brain cancer specialists, The Brain Cancer Group's collaborative approach puts patients at the centre. By working together, we will improve outcomes and hope to eventually find a cure. The Brain Cancer Group is a not-for-profit organisation. All donations $2.00 or more are fully tax deductible. The Brain Cancer Group in collaboration with The Kolling Institute of Medical Research would like to acknowledge the contribution that patients and families have made to further medical knowledge and the treatment of this disease.
