Adherence to our communitys planning goals has earned us a designation as a Plan First Community. Braselton's growth has been rapid. The population increased 284% between 1990 and 2000 to 1206 citizens and in 2010 topped 7,500. The Town continues to expand as development moves north from Atlanta up Interstate 85. The manufacturing firms of Panoz Auto Development and Mayfield Dairies chose Braselton. And, the distribution facilities for Havertys Southeast Distribution Center, Mizuno, Whole Foods, Hitachi, Williams-Sonoma and PetCo and corporate headquarters for Year One and Peachtree Tooling are located in the city limits. We boast very strong demographics. Braseltons success can be attributed to several key factors. Our location on the I-85 corridor provides excellent transportation access. The Town has its own water and sewer infrastructure which is a great benefit to residents and businesses. And, we focus on small town values, ensuring positive smart future growth. Braseltons history is important. The Braselton Town Hall, a former stately home of one of the Braselton Brothers, is the seat of government. After an award-winning historic preservation effort, it stands as a reminder of the era in which the town was founded and built. A visit to our downtown, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will give you a glimpse into the past as you shop our various antique, art and specialty retail facilities located in historic structures throughout the district.
