Brave Technology Coop

Founded out of Vancouver, Canada, Brave designs interventions to prevent accidental overdose deaths, combining new technologies with direct community engagement to redress social isolation, particularly for those most at risk. Brave's tools, developed for and co-designed with the community, include the Brave Button (a smart button connecting people at risk with community support), the Brave App (an app that connects people who use drugs with community members when they are vulnerable to overdose), and the Brave Sensor (to alert first responders of an overdose in a public space). Employing a holistic, values-driven approach to designing its tools, services, and enterprise, Brave empowers those at risk of overdose to use drugs safely while ensuring timely and considerate support is available when they need it from members of their communities.
