It moved into the motor vehicle salvage sector in the 1970s and with over 30 years of experience in the industry and continuous investment, they have been accredited by both DVLA and SEPA to de-pollute and destroy all ELVs environmentally, as detailed in the European Directive. They have the capacity to notify DVLA of all ELVs, via the web and issue Certificates of Destruction. The company must also conform to regular and rigorous inspections from SEPA as well as recording all vehicles in the company's computerised system. THE LAW - As of 2003, you are legally bound to ensure that when your old car becomes an ELV (End of Life Vehicle), it is taken to an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), where it will be de-polluted and recycled. The final registered keeper must obtain a Certificate of Destruction to prove that the vehicle has been destroyed. There are many un-authorised companies that mayl offer to take your car.
