Brighton
The Brighton Foundation, the charitable giving outreach of Brighton Corporation, is committed to assisting Treasure Valley organizations dedicated to providing and supporting life-enriching programs for disadvantaged children. Gifts are allocated to specific projects and programs designated by the Foundation that will make a difference in a child's life and encourage Brighton employee participation. It was established in 2006 and the committee consists of seven Brighton employees. The Brighton Foundation has made a positive impact for many children and their families. Many of the stories have pulled at our heart strings, and it is very rewarding to be able to help. Below are a few examples of the organizations the Foundation has assisted over the years: Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County: Since February 1997, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County have provided fun and engaging after school and summer programs to thousands of the community's most vulnerable youth. Women's & Children's Alliance: The WCA started in 1910 as the Boise YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association). It was established to provide a safe place for young single women to live, eat, and socialize. In 1996, it became the WCA. Christian Children's Ranch: For more than 68 years the Christian Children's Ranch in Eagle, Idaho has provided a quality Christ-centered, family focused, community-based program of care for the many "children of need" coming to them. First Book: First Book is determined to see that all children, regardless of their economic conditions, can achieve more in school and in life through access to an ongoing supply of new books. Meridian Education Foundation: The MEF was founded in 1987 with the goal of supporting creativity and innovation in the schools. For the past 25 years, they have been doing just that through an ongoing teacher grants program, "Thank a Teacher" donation program, music endowment grants program and many more worthy activities which have helped to make the Meridian School District a stronger educational leader in Idaho. Syringa House: This organization is the oldest, continuously operated children's residential treatment program in Idaho. In addition, they provide accredited education for all kids and currently operate two campuses - serving up to 80 children at a time. Boise Rescue Mission: BRM is the primary provider of homeless services in the state of Idaho with five facilities in Ada and Canyon counties. They provide overnight shelter, meals and clothing, and offer a variety of programs to address homelessness.
