BROOKE HILL ACADEMY TRUST
Brooke Hill is a popular community primary school. It was built in 1973. It is in a beautiful position overlooking open countryside. It is co-educational and caters for children from age 3 - 11. We were awarded Beacon status in September 2001 and also gained a School Achievement award for Excellence in 2001, 2002 and 2003. The nursery class is self-contained on a site adjacent to the main school building. It has its own enclosed soft surface play area and environmental area. The rest of the school is open plan in design which allows a great degree of flexibility. It comprises two large carpeted teaching areas, each with their own facility for art, water, clay, cooking and design technology activities. A new extension, which was opened in September 2002 increased the accommodation by adding 2 additional, large classrooms, a resource room and a new staff room. There are 4 Key Stage 1 classes and 6 Key Stage 2 classes. There is a library area which is curtained off from the teaching bases, and three quiet rooms that are used for the withdrawal of individuals and small groups and music lessons. The hall is used for P.E., games, dance, drama, music, assembly and dining. In April 2003 an ICT Suite was completed which has proved to be an extremely valuable addition to our resources. The administration area is housed in the entrance and includes the secretary's office and Headteacher's office. Outside there are two hard surface playgrounds, one soft surface playground and a field. We are proud of our high academic standards. The children consistently score significantly higher than the national average.
