Budget Motels, Inc. (BMI), founded in 1973 by William C. Latham, currently owns and operates eight Days Inns and one Comfort Inn. With 1,320 guestrooms, operating in four states and over 350 employees, BMI provides clean, comfortable and affordable accommodations to the traveling public in key geographical areas. Specific to BMI philosophy is its commitment to enhance each of its properties. Over the past 10 years, management has committed resources of over $10 million to improve the appearance of its hotels in order to enhance its operations. One of our most recent acquisitions is the newly renovated, Days Inn and Suites on Jekyll Island, Georgia. Set on a tranquil barrier island, this property features oceanfront suites as well as easy access to Jekyll Island's historic district and Millionaire's Club. In addition, Days Inn and Suites is within walking distance to Jekyll Island's Convention Center. Jekyll Island real estate owners were directed to BMI in their quest for established and profitable management. This resulted in BMI's long-term management contract for the Villas by the Sea Hotel Condominium also located on Jekyll Island. The Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is one of the top markets in the United States as far as tourism and visitors are concerned. As such, our Days Inn - Alexandria, and Comfort Inn - Alexandria consistently generate the highest occupancy in Alexandria, Virginia. BMI has maintained a strong presence in the industry by holding fast to its strategy of providing clean and comfortable rooms staffed by personable staff at the best price value.
