BUILDING DESIGN GROUP is an independent Swaziland based consultancy firm offering services in Architecture, Urban Planning, Interior and Graphic Design. The firm was formed in 1982 and has a professional staff of architects, urban and regional planners and designers as well as a long term association with external consultants of different expertise. BDG is registered in Swaziland as a limited company and is member of the Swaziland Association of Architects, Engineers & Surveyors. The firm also has an office in Maputo, Mozambique, under the name INDECO - INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS LDA and is registered with the Ministry of Construction and Water (MCA) and various Local Authorities. BUILDING DESIGN GROUP has the capability and experience to offer professional services in a broad sector of the built environment as indicated above. Our work is founded on the timeless architectural principles of functionality, durability, comfort, appropriateness and beauty. Where possible the use of local materials and skills is optimised. In the wider sphere of urban and regional planning, respect for and reconcilation of the, sometimes conflicting, interests of the local community as well as the environment are paramount. All design work is carried out locally but the practice has access to additional back-up facilities and the expertise through associate offices in Maputo and Durban.
