We are a very technological business, with 6 computers , a mixing and mastering studio, and a CDR manufacturing machine, all of which misbehaved enormously in the first 18 months. In the first year we also had to suffer criticism from people who felt that a jazz record label shouldn't have received the funding and that we weren't spending it in a sensible way. These included some myths that are around that as some of our releases are on CDR , that they would only last for a few years. We felt that, by using cutting edge technology to make it less expensive to release albums, which still had CD quality sound and which we could manufacture to order, we would be able to make a wider range of music available to you the audience. And so we are very proud of the music we have put out to date, and of the quality of the CDs, whether CDR or pressed CDs. We have brought in a CDR lifetime guarantee ( if your Caber CD doesn't play and is not scratched we will replace it free of charge or refund your money), to reassure people, and also the unique Caber Music Scratch Replacement Scheme , which means if you buy a Caber CD and it gets scratched we will replace it for a minimal charge. As far as we know that is unique in the whole world! We think if you buy music from us and love it and play it repeatedly, you shouldnt have to pay full price if the CD gets scratched cos you love it so much.
