Caldwell County Schools

The Caldwell County School System is a nationally accredited public school district enrolling 12,351 students in grades K-12, the 33rd largest district of 116 in North Carolina. It is the largest employer in Caldwell County, employing 1,725 educators and non-certified staff. The district includes six high schools: three traditional high schools, an alternative school, and two innovative high schools located on the community college campus. There 11 elementary schools for students in grades K-5, four middle schools serving grades 6-8, and four K-8 schools positioned in the scenic, rural areas of Caldwell County. Additionally, the district recently opened the Patterson Science Center, a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) center for grades K-12 located on the campus of the former Patterson School that features an outdoor classroom environment of 1,400 acres. The school district also offers preschool classes at four elementary schools; a summer program for pre-kindergarten students; and a 5-star before and after care WrapAround Program for students in grades K-8 at 15 different school sites.
