Our Los Angeles labor attorneys annually donate hundreds of hours of legal services to individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford an attorney. Our goal is to ensure that no person goes without the justice he or she deserves. We do this because we firmly believe it is the right thing to do. Kesluk, Silverstein & Jacob backs up its community involvement by donating a percentage of every case to worthy charities. Past recipients of our donations have included hospitals, youth intervention groups, organizations fighting disease, community improvement organizations, literacy for children groups, disability rights groups, poverty eradication groups, organizations fighting hunger, and youth sports groups. Kesluk, Silverstein & Jacob also wants to make sure that anyone who needs an attorney is able to retain one, regardless of their ability to afford an attorney. With that goal in mind, we are donating more than $100,000 in 2007 alone to "pro bono" (free) legal service organizations such as Public Counsel and Bet Tzedek - The House of Justice. We believe this is the right way to do business. As part of our class action practice, we have also convinced defendant employers who have violated the law to make significant contributions to charities as part of any settlement. Partner Douglas N. Silverstein is also a "Founding Friend" of Los Angeles Trial Lawyers' Charities, an organization whose sole purpose is to make a positive difference in the quality of life for people in need in the Los Angeles community.
