Caller Smart

CallerSmart is a free app for your iPhone that helps you identify mystery callers and block those you don't want to hear from ever again. Thanks to an amazing game system which rewards our users for their contributions to our phone book, together we're now able to outsmart unknown & unwanted callers. Like the multi-cultural melting pot that is Vancouver (which is where the postman delivers to us), our talented team hails from multiple countries across 3 different continents. What brings our team together are a few core ideas. First, we strive to run a lean ship and make decisions that are data-driven. Second, we value a healthy work-life balance, which is why we work from where we choose. And third, we each love ice cream! Most importantly, we agreed that America's phone book needed to be dragged into the 21st century. After all, those bulky paper phone books harm the environment. Millions of trees are cut down, hardly anybody reads them and they go out-of-date just about as fast as they are printed. We knew there had to be a better way. So we thought, what if we made it fun to keep a digital phone book up-to-date? That way, we could help each other know who was behind an unrecognized number. Plus, if we made it collaborative, then we could easily warn others about unwanted callers too. So we built CallerSmart. And by introducing game elements and rewarding those who contributed the most, we channeled our inherent competitiveness to create a shared phone book that's useful for all.
