Cameron Mechanical
Cameron Mechanical Limited is a locally owned and operated diesel workshop in Gisborne. Cameron Mechanical started in May 2004 when Ken Cameron decided to take the plunge and leave permanent employment. He purchased a van, loaded his tools in the back and was off doing various mechanical jobs around the Gisborne district. In June 2005 Ken bought the plant and stock of Eastland Hydraulics and began to offer hydraulic hose and repairs. As the demand for truck servicing increased the need for a premises to work on these trucks was required. With a few modifications to an ex-kiwifruit packhouse to accommodate large trucks and trailers units, Ken had a new workshop. Cameron Mechanical Limited was formed in March 2006, giving Ken the opportunity to offer more services and employ staff to help with the increasing workload. As the business grew over the next few years it became obvious that we were out growing the packhouse. Eventually a suitable site was found and 2016 saw the construction of a purpose built workshop. Cameron Mechanical Ltd moved into its new premises in October 2016. We are the Authorised Service Centre for Isuzu trucks, working with Deakin Trucks of Hastings. We have recently been appointed a service sub-dealer to Penske Commercial Vehicles, Tauranga. This enables us to provide support to MAN, Western Star trucks and Detroit engines in the Gisborne and East Coast region. We also have full diagnostic capability for Cummins, CAT, Detroit, Mercedes Benz, Freightliner, Eaton Road Ranger, Wabco and Isuzu products.
