Canoe Forest Products Ltd. (CFP) produces superior quality Canadian softwood sheathing and specialty plywood products under the trademark CANOE brand®. Since 1965, the CANOE brand® has distinguished itself as a premium quality plywood panel that is well recognized and valued throughout the world. The Canoe plywood facility is situated 5 kilometers east of the city of Salmon Arm, in the heart of some of BC's highest quality timber and is supported by log harvesting and forestry operations within the Okanagan Timber Supply Area, surrounding Shuswap Lake. With a capacity of approximately 165 million square feet of plywood annually, the company is well recognized for its high quality products and precision manufacturing. On November 1, 2012, Canoe Forest Products joined the Gorman Family of Companies. Gorman Bros. Lumber Ltd. was founded by Ross and John Gorman and has been in operation in Westbank, BC, since 1951. It is the largest single site board manufacturer in North America. It produces only high quality SPF boards. Other members of the Gorman group are Downie Timber in Revelstoke, BC, providing premium quality cedar, fir and hemlock products, and Oroville Reman and Reload in Oroville, WA, which provides reloading services on the Burlington Northern Railway. All companies in the group are solely owned by the Ross Gorman family.
