Cantor was founded in 1989 by Joel Cantor, a real estate veteran, who started his career with Salomon Brothers in their real estate finance department, and later worked with Trammell Crow in commercial real estate development. Through the Firm, Joel has established a strong track record having purchased, managed, and operated 32 successful commercial and residential real estate projects through several market cycles, totaling over $360 million. He also led the development of Signature Place, which includes office and residential space on the waterfront of downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. Signature Place won the Project-of-the-Year from the American Institute of Architects and houses the Firm's headquarters.
