Carmel is a great base to explore Mid and North Wales with the resorts of Aberdovey and Barmouth, with all their activities only 35 and 40 miles away respectively. The park is a great place for all the family to come, with so much to do nearby, such as visiting such landmarks as Powis Castle, Bala Lake, Lake Vyrnwy, Clewedog Dam, the Elan Valley, the Montgomery Canal or Llanfair Light Railway to name but a few. It is also an excellent location for fishing excursions, country walks and all kinds of water sports.
