Cary Cardiology

Cary Cardiology has been serving the Triangle and its communities for over 30 years. The practice originated with Dr. Priyavadan M. (P.M.) Shah starting a solo practice in 1982 at MacGregor Village. He was joined by Dr. Dhiren N. (D.N.) Shah in 1991 and the office moved to Keisler Drive. As Cary began to grow, they responded to meet the cardiac needs of the community. During the summer of 1999, Dr. Rama Garimella joined Cary Cardiology. Dr. Sunil Desai and Dr. Pratik Desai joined the practice in 2000, with Dr. Joshua Macomber following in 2007 and Dr. Pavlo Netrebko in 2009. Dr. Rajesh Vakani joined Cary Cardiology in 2013 providing strong support to the Harnett County community and now sharing that support in Wake County also. Cary Cardiology has become widely acknowledged as a pioneering force in innovative cardiovascular practices. We have been recognized by the Triangle as a leader in cardiovascular care. The current eight member group brings together a wealth of highly-qualified and diversely-trained cardiologists. Each physician has received advanced fellowship training, in leading nationally recognized programs, in one or more areas of preventive cardiology and health maintenance, cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic cardiac testing, Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), electrophysiology, management of arrhythmia disorders, interventional cardiology, and nuclear cardiac imaging. Our physicians serve in medical staff leadership positions in local area hospitals and organizations and are also involved in ongoing inpatient and outpatient research projects. Our practice has been recognized by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) as an Accredited Echocardiography Laboratory in the area of Adult Stress Echocardiography Testing and Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Testing. We are currently accepting appointments and new patients.
