Center for Education and Development (CED) Somalia is a Somali NGO working on humanitarian and development projects throughout the country, but mainly within Southern-Central Somalia. e have been in existence since 1992 and have carried out numerous projects designed at improving the quality of life for ordinary Somalis particularly women and children. CED has a well established base in Mogadishu and several sub-offices in other regions of Somalia. CED is registered both in Somalia and Kenya. CED was established with the main aim of advancement of Education, humanitarian aid and developmental programs mainly in the context of Somalia. The organization works with vulnerable communities in order to eradicate illiteracy, inequality and injustice. It has adopted a participatory approach in working with communities, to nurture ownership and sustainability of initiated activities. The organization has an emergency response plan that guides its emergency response programming.
