Center for Health Impact

The Center for Health Impact, formerly known as Central Massachusetts Area Health Education Center, Inc., was founded in 1982 with the mission to enhance access to quality health care, promote workforce development, and eliminate health disparities. Massachusetts Association of Community Health Workers (MACHW), founded in 2000 as a Community Health Worker (CHW) -led and -driven statewide professional organization, has served a key role in unifying and supporting Massachusetts CHWs and informing state policy and health care practice relevant to CHWs. In November 2014, after years in a close working partnership built on a common commitment to support and advocacy for CHWs, Center for Health Impact merged with MACHW.
