CerTek Software Designs

CerTek Software Designs, Inc. was born in 1998 (and incorporated in 1999), when two creative software designers, Kurt Gollhardt and David Roberts, got together and discovered that they'd each independently developed POS (Point of Sale) software programs that were remarkably similar. They found they both shared a design philosophy of solid data processing, ease of use, and thoughtful design, providing solutions that really work. They brought the best of these two programs together to make Artisan POS (originally called Artisan Storefront). CerTek brings a unique perspective to the design of POS software for small and medium retail stores. Besides many years of software development experience, David and Kurt both have extensive retail experience. David owned and operated his own frame shop for over 10 years. Kurt grew up with the family business, an American fine craft store & gallery (Beautiful Things in Scotch Plains, NJ), in business for over 30 years. Kurt and David each bring their own special skills into the combined effort. Kurt brings an extensive knowledge of low level computer operations and David brings a sense for aesthetics and user interface skills. The combination has been eminently successful and has produced products that conform to the founding philosophy and have gone well beyond expectations. Kurt, David, and the rest of the CerTek family were proud to offer the Artisan POS product line as our first family of products, and it continues to prove worthy of that pride.
