Chalet Desserts produces high quality bakery and confectionery products for In-Store Bakeries, Club Stores, Food Service Distributors and Convenience Stores throughout the United States and Canada. It is known for being fast to market with new and innovative products responding to customer needs. Chalet Desserts is the largest manufacturer of Cake Pops in the world. Chalet also produces cupcakes, sheet cakes, finished layer cakes, muffins, carrot cakes, galettes, boulettes, cheesecakes, biscotti, tiramisu, chocolate barks, peanut brittle and small baked toppings for yogurt shops and ice cream manufacturers. Chalet Desserts, originally located in Hayward California, was famous for producing many upscale quality desserts such as Tiramisu, Brownies, Carrot Cake and many flavors of Cheesecakes. Chalet Desserts also produced many small inclusions for use in ice cream including tiramisu, cookie dough, brownies and cheesecake pieces. Chalet Desserts was acquired along with Bako Products, Inc., and the operations transferred to the Bako Products Plant in Sacramento, CA in 2006. The company operated as Bako Products, Inc. until 2011 when the operations were consolidated under Chalet Desserts. Management includes David Laukat as CEO of Chalet Desserts with a background of over 30 years of food manufacturing experience. Previously, as CEO he built Guernsey Bel, Inc. from a start up operation to a $42 million in revenue bakery and confectionery business. The company had 245 employees and a 90,000 square foot plant in Chicago, Illinois. Guernsey Bel specialized in candy and bakery inclusions for frozen yogurt stores and ice cream manufacturers. Guernsey Bel, Inc. was ultimately acquired by Kerry Group PLC a large public Ireland based company in 2003. Chalet Desserts has recently re-located to a larger 40,000 sq foot facility increasing its capacity. Chalet Desserts has also taken on many new large grocery store customers nationwide in 2014, including Whole Foods, HyVee, HEB, SaveMart, Raley's, Winco and 3800 Wal Mart stores. Chalet Desserts is a fast growing company with new and innovative products being created constantly.
