Château Tanunda

Château Tanunda, icon of the Barossa, is one of the most recognisable buildings in Australia and is an institution in Australian wine and brandy history. Today, after more than 15 years of restoration and dedication to handcrafted, individual batch basket press winemaking, the International Acclaim keeps rolling in; ranked in Wine Spectator magazine's Top 100 Outstanding Value Wines, three times in the past four years; and achieving Australian Producer of the Year four times over five years, at the Berlin Wine Trophy in 2014, 2013, 2011, 2010 and the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2010. This occasion kicks off a series of Australia wide and international events throughout 2015 in celebration of the 125 year milestone. Its an exciting time with new, Limited Anniversary Release wines to be revealed throughout the course of the year. John Geber, Proprietor of Château Tanunda, is extremely proud to ring in the first fruit intake, a very spiritual time in the winemaking cycle. "This signifies the beginning of the 2015 Vintage, which looks promising with outstanding fruit flavours and ideal conditions. It's going to be a mighty vintage and may the vintage bell keep ringing for another 125 years." "My daughter Michelle is the next generation and I can see her ringing the vintage bell in 2040 for our 150th Anniversary.
