Cherokee Christian Schools

Cherokee Christian School (CCS) was started by Cherokee Presbyterian Church in 1986 and met in a house in north Woodstock with 35 children. In 1988-89, the school moved to a joint facility with Cherokee Presbyterian Church at the corner of Highway 92 and Hames Road in Woodstock, GA. In 1997, Cherokee Christian School filed for its own separate 501 (c) (3) non profit corporation and continued to be governed by a Board of Directors. Day to day operations are run by the school Superintendent, Director of Operations, three Principals, and support staff. In the fall of 2000, God gave CCS a brand new 33,000 square foot facility near the intersection of Trickum and Arnold Mill Roads in Woodstock, Georgia. In 2002, Cherokee Christian School was renamed Cherokee Christian Academy (K-8th grade) and Cherokee Christian High School (9th through 12th). During the 2002-2003 school year, God graciously sent enough financial gifts to the school to enable a 7,200 square foot extension to be built (5 classrooms), which opened in the fall of 2003. In 2005, the school was able to purchase 5 acres of land to the north of the school, increasing the campus footprint to 15 acres. During the summer of 2006, we expanded once more with the addition of a middle school extension. This modern extension provided two large classrooms, a band room, and various office spaces. In 2007, a second phase of the middle school extension was added providing classrooms, offices, and a teacher workroom. In 2008, a gracious gift was received that enabled the school to purchase 10 additional acres and increased the campus size to 25 acres. We also began the construction of a 26,000 square foot dedicated high school building. The building was completed in time for the 2010-2011 school year. God has blessed the growth of Cherokee Christian Schools over the last 24 years with a fall 2010 enrollment of approximately 388 students. With the completion of the new high school building, the campus now has 73,000 square feet of educational space on 25 acres. We are also pleased to cite the unity and openness of our schools, the local churches, and the parents. The student body is made up of children from more than 95 different churches representing 10 different denominations in Cherokee, Cobb, Fulton, Pickens, and Forsyth counties.
