We are the first bank of our kind in the world. Set up by the UK Government in 2012, we have GBP 3.8bn to invest to accelerate the UK's transition to a green economy. We measure our performance against a double bottom line of green impact and financial returns. We make investments on commercial terms in a number of key sectors: offshore wind, waste and bioenergy, energy efficiency and community-scale renewables. To date we have backed over 45 green infrastructure projects, committing GBP 1.8bn to the UK's green economy into transactions worth GBP 6.9bn.
