Chichester Harbour Trust

The Chichester Harbour Trust was created 13 years ago in response to the various pressures that threaten the unspoilt beauty and tranquillity of the area and risk the loss of the important wildlife habitats that the harbour provides. Despite its status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, for the most sensitive parts of the harbour ownership is the only sure form of stewardship, and it is the charity's aim to acquire land in the most vulnerable areas to safeguard it for future generations. The Trust now owns over 230 acres of harbourside land in 10 sites.
