Chineasy
Chineasy is an illustrated and now animated Chinese language methodology created by entrepreneur and author ShaoLan Hsueh. Chineasy's aim is to bridge the gap between the East and the West. The system is built on a building block methodology which allows students to learn a small number of commonly occurring characters, building blocks, which can then be combined to create more complex characters known as compounds and couplets of characters known as phrases. These illustrated and animated characters aim to provide both a memorable interpretation of Chinese and also glimpse into the culture behind the language. Chineasy has grown from a well received TED talk to a successful Kickstarter Campaign that raised almost £200,000 to a multi language book "Chineasy : The New Way to Read Chinese" due for release on March 10th 2014 published by Thames & Hudson (UK) and Harper Collins (US), and to an App which will introduce audio and animation due for release in March 2014.
