Chrill Care
Since it's founding in 1948, Chrill Care has continually been on the forefront of the health care industry. The agency was founded by two visionary women, Marion Yaguda and Geraldine O. Delaney, who saw an unmet need within the community. Once chronically ill patients left their hospital bed to return home, they were essentially on their own, with little opportunity to build up their strength amidst the demands of home and family. Working with the Essex County Medical Association, they developed the Essex County Service for the Chronically Ill , whereby trained Visiting Homemakers would make home visits, do light housework, laundry, cooking, shopping, and when necessary, assist in the caring of the patient's children. In 1956, the Agency refined its scope to provide in-home supportive services to wider range of patients and changed its name to Chrill Service, Inc. Working in conjunction with the New Jersey State Board of Nursing, Chrill developed one of the first comprehensive training programs for Homemaker-Home Health Aides who would provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, in addition to homemaker duties. Now known as Chrill Care Inc., the Agency continues to enjoy a reputation as a quality home care provider.
