Christchurch International Airport
Christchurch Airport is New Zealand's most sustainable airport. We've cut our Scope 1 carbon emissions by 85% since 2015 and will be carbon neutral in 2022. We were the first airport in the world to receive the Airports Council International highest level of carbon certification (ACA Level 4), after significantly and measurably reducing our carbon footprint. Pre-pandemic, we welcomed around 7 million people to Christchurch every year. That decreased to 3.7 million for the financial year ending 30 June 2021 (FY21). However, a strategy of revenue diversification and restructuring airline pricing after the Canterbury earthquakes, enabled Christchurch Airport to be one of few airports in the world to post a profit in FY21, declaring a net profit after tax of $38.7 million. Operating on more than 1,000 hectares, Christchurch Airport has extensive experience in building and managing property.
