Commercial Industries

Commercial Industries Company was developed from the Seattle division of Soule' Steel Company in 1967. At the time, Soule' was moving their Seattle operation to their Los Angeles office. Roger Benton, who had been with Soule' since 1956 and was their number one steel building salesman on the West Coast, started Commercial Industries to become the Northwest dealer for Soule's Steel Building Division. During the time Commercial Industries was a dealer for Soule', they were one of their largest volume dealers and installed over 600 Soule' Metal Buildings in the greater Seattle area. In 1978, Roger's son, Steve Benton, joined the Commercial Industries team, working his way from field support staff to project manager and finally to become President in 1994 when Roger retired. The experience Steve gained from his father has helped Commercial Industries continue the growth and customer service quality it maintains today. In late 1983, the owners of Commercial Industries wanted to start a new steel building line to fill what they felt was a void in the marketplace. Having a dealership background, their goal was to provide a superior quality steel building product line with fast, flexible service from the factory to its authorized dealers. This would allow CBC's dealers to provide superior service to their customers at a competitive cost. Thus, CBC Steel Buildings was started with the factory located in northern California. Since 1984, CBC has been able to gain a large share of the market by fulfilling their goals of superior quality and service with competitive prices. CBC currently sells to over 200 factory authorized dealers along the West Coast. In 1997, CBC Steel Buildings was sold and is now a division of NUCOR. NUCOR has maintained the original CBC philosophy of superior quality and service with competitive prices while expanding the CBC product line. With the start of CBC, Commercial Industries became an authorized dealer-and maintains that dealership status today.
