Winder City Hall
The Winder Housing Authority operates approximately 321 public housing units in the City of Winder and surrounding areas. Their goal is to provide safe, affordable housing to eligible lower income residents, as well as recreation and other amenities. The primary source of funding is the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the authority is operated under HUD guidelines. The City of Winder appoints five volunteer directors to the Housing Authority Board. The sixth member of the board is appointed from among the tenants of the Winder Housing Authority. Members of the Winder Housing Authority serve terms of office of 5 years.
