Continental Labor and Staffing Resources was founded in 1993 as Continental Labor Resources, Incorporated. Co-founders Shannon Grove (Smith) and Karen Cain formed a professional partnership built on trust, faith, and strong family ties as sisters-in-law. Shannons experience in the staffing and employment industry provided a wealth of experience that enabled them to offer employers highly skilled, safety-conscious employees while providing unparalleled customer service. Within two years, Continental Labor grew to become the largest independently owned staffing agency in Bakersfield. Today, Continental is one of the largest independently female-owned staffing agencies in California, employing over 4,000 workers and maintaining offices statewide. We did business based on our word and promised that we would get the job done, plus we promised to do what it took to take care of our clients and employees even if it meant we had to go to a work site or job ourselves to complete the work order! says Shannon.
