Cobalt Speech & Language, Inc. is a new, independent, commercial software lab. Cobalt is new: It was founded by Jeff Adams in September, 2014. Jeff previously built and managed world-class speech & language software groups at Nuance, Yap, and Amazon. Cobalt is commercial: We are focused on bringing speech and language technology to end users. We hire top speech & language scientists & engineers, but we don't live in an ivory tower. We bring a century of experience working on products like Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Amazon Echo. Cobalt is independent: The major commercial speech labs (such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Amazon) are dedicated to the products of those companies. Cobalt is available to partner with you for your products. Cobalt has over 100 years of relevant experience and its employees have applied for over 50 patents. We pioneered groundbreaking continuous learning techniques for Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and made dramatic improvements to Dragon's ability to customize models for speakers and market segments. We built unprecedented human-human telephone speech recognition at Yap, matching the performance of competitors using off-shore human transcribers. We oversaw & built the groundbreaking speech recognition in the Amazon Echo. We are recognized in the speech field for our ability to build great teams that build great products.
