Codify
Since 2003, Codify has delivered the network infrastructure for several of Microsoft's annual conferences. This year at the Microsoft Australian Partner Conference (APC 2015), we provisioned Internet services for 1200 partner delegates, executives and Microsoft staff. Delegates at the event enjoy very high speed wireless from over 100 radios deployed throughout the venue. Codify created a unique visualisation of usage of the wireless network during the event, leveraging Microsoft Azure Event Hubs. The number of clients connected to each AP was sampled every 5 seconds. This data was submitted to an Azure event hub. Two Event Hub Processors were created, one to send data to an Azure SQL database for storage, and another to send wireless access point usage data to any web browsers running the visualisation client. The web client received events from the event hub and overlaid them on a map of the venue in real-time using WebGL. Lee Hickin, the Microsoft Commercial Lead for Windows Internet of Things, demonstrated Codify's WiFi Heatmap during his APC sessions to illustrate the power of Windows Internet of Things (IoT) and Azure, driving relevance home with the partners.
