CogSim Technologies
CogSim Technologies is a for-profit research and development and product development organization focused on the effective use of simulation technology based in Ottawa, Ontario. Established in 1998, CogSim Technologies combines the applied use of human factors engineering and of modeling and simulation tools and technologies in order to enable the creation of effective simulation systems. Members of the CogSim team have been involved with the definition, development and support of/for international simulation standards since 1997. CogSim is active in efforts associated with the ongoing evolution of simulation standards, regularly attending Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) Simulation Interoperability Workshops (SIW). CogSim members are active participants in SISO Product Development Groups (PDGs), including the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) Extension PDG, Real-time Platform Reference (RPR) Federation Object Model (FOM) PDG and the Common Image Generator Interface (CIGI) PDG. The CogSim human factors and experimentation team provides a capability in human factors, cognitive engineering and human performance assessment with 25+ years of experience. The CogSim human factors and simulation teams work closely to provide analyses, rapid-prototyping, design, and implementation services. The CogSim human factors team has extensive experience in assessing situational awareness, workload, and task-relevant performance of operators and crew in the aviation and transportation domains.
