colonial fence had its beginning in 1974 in millis, ma, and since that time has gone through many changes but - our one goal to build truly superior fence products has never changed. in the beginning we purchased fencing material from large wholesale distributors, each with different manufacturing standards. dissatisfied with the available quality, we opened our own small manufacturing shop in bellingham, ma in 1978, and began to build a reputation as a premier wood fence contractor and installation company in massachusetts and throughout new england. by the mid-1980's, colonial fence was specializing in a variety of custom cedar fence products and supplies, moving ahead of the industry in quality standards, fence design techniques and fence installation practices. by the end of the century, a different type of product was starting to emerge as a viable fence product, vinyl (pvc), which was used widely in the siding and window markets. we at colonial fence watched this development w
