Community Medical Centers

Community Medical Centers is a Joint Commission accredited Federally Qualified Health Center that provides culturally sensitive health care to the community's poor and medically underserved. For more than 40 years, CMC had brought doctors, basic health services and medical facilities into the community to serve those who need us the most. CMC's Health Centers serve the working poor, the uninsured, farm workers, homeless persons and other vulnerable populations. Today, in a three-county service area, CMC serves more than 86,763 patients with more than 270,430 patient visits annually. CMC is one of the largest safety net providers of health care in its service area. More than half of CMC's patients have their health care paid for by Medi-Cal. More than 40% are uninsured and pay for their health care on a sliding fee scale basis. CMC patients speak many different languages. May have limited education and inadequate housing, and 3 out of 4 have income levels of less than 200% poverty. While so many health care organizations struggle to survive, CMC, through community support and dedicated physicians and staff, has been able to continue providing access to preventive and primary health services regardless of a person's ability to pay.
