Connop and Son

Connop and Son is a family run business, started in the 1970's by John Connop in partnership with Michael as agricultural contractors; ploughing, planting and harvesting arable crops to boost the output of a small farming unit. Gradually excavators and other plant were added to the business and Michael diversified more into construction, our first farm building site was a poultry unit in the 1970's. The 1990's saw another generation join the company bringing new ideas. Peter has specialised in laying concrete floors. He operates the laserscreed, and together with a very experienced team produces large concrete floors to a very high standard. Vicki returned to the family company in 2002 and together with her mum, Lindy run the office, quoting, buying and billings. Finances are kept in order by Pauline who joined the company in 1993. Mike's nephew Andrew Meredith joined the Management team to help us respond to an ever increasing order book. Andrew has since brought the company foward in terms of technology by utilising the 3 D trimble laser system aiding the company in taking levels and marking out sites. Our workforce of 28, many of whom have been with us for a number of years, are experienced and cable of producing good quality works on time and in a safe environment. We are proud of our farming roots and the majority of our work is based around the agricultural sector. Farming has seen many changes and the modern farm unit now requires work to as high a specification as many industrial sites, so the natural progression has been to encompass commercial projects as well. Years of experience have enabled us to accumulate the right equipment and expertise for the right job.
